33in x 52in @ 300ppi; Daz Studio 4, Adobe Photoshop CS4. I started this project attempting to depict what I understood to be the Greek concept of Hades. However, early on, I made a poor choice for the color scheme, and, with a series of further wrong choices, this piece gradually turned into a more stereotypical Christian version of Hell. While it isn't quite what I had intended, I still like it. I tried to create a sense of depth by both layering the human forms, changing size as they progresses from background to foreground, and by increasing the blur with proximity to the viewer. The goal being to keep the viewer's attention on the horned, devil figure and increasing the perception that he is much larger than any of the figures in the sea of souls.
