52in x 33in @ 300ppi; Adobe Illustrator CS4; digital illustration. This one is for this weekend's http://illustrationfriday.com challenge. The topic is "lesson." I thought I would stretch my legs, so to speak, and try something new. So, I gave an outright illustration a try. The topic made me think of being in a schoolroom and having to write out things on a chalkboard. I couldn't decide what the lesson should be, so I made it a compilation of things we try to teach children (in theory, anyway). This kind of illustration is not something I normally do, so I'm very interested in feedback.
This piece was an oddball. I did it in Illustrator. However, to export it using the Zoomify tool, I had to import it into Photoshop - this is my process for all my work. Despite the size (which has become a standard size for me) this piece took over 36 hours to import into PS. Very strange.
