Hey gang!
Today is about a little site maintenance. Over the past few months, I have heard from a number of sources that the layout of the page made viewing my pieces a little challenging. I also received feedback that the layout was distracting, with too much focus on the sidebar items, and not enough focus on the main content.
So, today, I have spent some time revising the layout to be a bit more user friendly. Among the changes...
- The sidebar has been moved to the left side and placed below the main menu. The font size for the sidebar widgets has been reduced by 15%.
- The main content area has been increased by nearly 100% - though I still limit the width of the text, for legibility. Long lines of text = bad reading.
- With the increase in the content area, the default view of my paintings has been nearly doubled. Additionally, when viewing my collections, in the thumbnail views, the extra space is used so that you do not have to scroll down as much, since more thumbnails fit on each line.
- The background image has been moved to the right and optimized to be about half of it's former filesize - which should equate to much faster load times.
I am, as always, very interested in your feedback. Please feel free to tell me what you do/don't like about the layout, any bugs you find, or if something just looks odd. Just put your feedback in the comments on this post, or use my contact form. Your input helps me make this a better site!
Thank you!
