So many things, so little time...

I've made a great discovery! I've found that using an app called TeamViewer (available for free - for personal use) on the iPad and my PC, I can work on paintings when away from my computer! There simply are not enough words to explain how incredibly fantastic this is!

Well, I have been using it to eat up more of my evenings and off time. As a result, I've produced a large number of paintings, in between my real work, that is.

The vertical piece and the top horizontal piece are continuations of some themes I've been playing with. The top horizontal piece is playing more with a Mondrian theme - but jazzed up a la moi. The bottom horizontal piece is the result of waking up WAY too early one morning. Sleep addled minds don't always think the way rested minds do.

Today, I have created two pieces (yes, I was actually working on my computer for these two) that I'm particularly proud of. "within without you" is the first. This one relies heavily on circular patterns. I started by creating a custom circle brush. I did that because I wanted to play with random brush sizes larger than the default circular brushes in Photoshop. Plus, a custom brush allowed me a much finer control over the hardness of the brush, than I could get with one of the defaults. The man was added later on. Unlike most of my paintings, I did this one in silence - no music playing. Even so, as I got closer to completion, I started hearing the Beatles' "Within Without You" playing in my head. Make of that what you will.

"release me" is the second one I did today. I wanted to continue experimenting with the lines of dots, the male figure, and a pattern of shapes - though I used rounded squares & rectangles for this one. I also had more of a theme in mind as I started this one. I knew where I wanted it to head & am reasonably happy with the result. It's not exactly what I had originally intended, but is far closer to the mark than I normally get.

What else? Enjoying a rainy Saturday, with time to myself. Yes, I *love* rainy Saturdays. A. It means I don't have to water the lawn. B. It smells fantastic. C. I crave the sound of rain falling on the roof. D. I love the more moderate temperatures... do I need to go on?

Here's wishing you as enjoyable of a weekend as I am having!
