| Updates: |
|
- Found and corrected a bug that caused the database (all the tag and font info) to be lost each time the program us updated/upgraded. Unfortunately, this will not retrieve any data from prior versions. However, with any luck ;-) , this will no longer be a problem.
- Changed the startup behavior to only search for installed fonts on the first run. After that, you can search for new fonts via the Find/Check for New Fonts menu item.
- Streamlined the loading and saving of the database
- Added an auto check for updates - when the application is started, it will check for an update, if it has been more than 7 days since it last checked.

Known Issues
- If you have two fonts with the exact same name (for example, a TrueType "Garamond"
and an OpenType "Garamond"), the program only allows you to set tags for one of
them. I'm currently working on a fix to this issue.
- Overall, the response time of this program is pretty good. However, when selecting a large number of fonts (the number depends on your system resources), the Results pane may take a longer than normal amount of time to render.
- If a particular font does not define all the standard characters, default characters in a default font are shown, rather than an empty space (most notable in Alternate fonts).
- This program uses Internet Explorer to render and print the font Results. This is because Windows does not natively support all OpenType and Adobe Type 1 fonts - but, for reasons unknown to me, it does support rendering them through a web browser. Side effects from using IE are that there is limited control over printing. Result sets may break across pages, you have to allow printing of background colors through IE, rather than this program, and you have to configure the header and footer manually (open Print Preview and click the Page Settings icon). Additionally, if you select a large font size, the fonts may not show up in the Print or Print Preview.
- The program does not currently report if a font is TrueType, OpenType, or Adobe
Type 1.
